Welcome to your Napili Community Garden
Come Grow with Us!
An active, enthusiastic and engaged group of future gardeners are busy at work building infrastructure and planning the organization needed to create a fabulous new garden for our community.
Are you positive, proactive and personable?
We want you!!
...to join in the work days (last Sat. of each month)
...to attend planning meetings (see calendar)
...to spread the word
...to share your ideas about setting up your future garden
...to volunteer your unique talents to this community project
...to connect with schools, businesses or organizations that might like to be involved
Overview
A 3.6 acre organic community garden just above Honoapiilani Hwy in Napili is in planning stages of development. This garden will be available to the West Maui community for use in growing food for individuals and families. Access to the land and water will be provided at no cost for use as a garden with understanding that participants will adhere to guidelines and assist with the general maintenance of the garden (it is at the discretion of the eventual garden council if fees are collected for other uses that serve the intention of the garden).
The garden is located on former pineapple lands that have been out of production for a sufficient period of time to be certified organic. Ulupono Sustainable Agriculture Development (USAD) holds a ten-year lease to these lands. USAD is primarily an organic farming and research company but also engages in community projects that support food production for local communities.
